Dr. Gureibon is a major supporting character in the Bomberman B-Daman Bakugaiden manga and anime.
Personality[]
Legendary Edition (Planet Emblem Edition)[]
He was stated to be the best scientist in the Blue Soarer solar system by working on the Planet Energy. As such, he was detained by the Imperial Army and forced to make military use of his energy theories. However, he took advantage of a momentary lull in the Imperial Army and transferred the blueprints of the Planet Energy circuits to various parts of the solar system. After the final phase, they were safely released.
He was also involved in the design of the Cosmo Unit in Bakugaiden III.
B-Da City (Bakugaiden IV) Edition[]
He is known for developing the B-Da Armors and prepares for the attack against the Dark B-Da. He's energetic for his age and has a somewhat childish side. He is Aobon's grandfather. His inventions themselves, with the exception of the B-Da Armor, are often trivial, to the extent that Shirobon says they "look like rubbish or junk". However, as a scientist he has reached the level of genius, and has even produced B-Da Armors without blueprints. His mentor, Professorbon, entrusted him with research data and he created 3 B-Da Armors (White Blows, Blue Braver and Yellow Crusher), the basis for the combined B-Da Armor, the Saint Blaster. He has a weakness for beautiful women and is really unaware that Ms. Purple is Shuringe in disguise, so he fell in love with her and even considered marrying her. Because of this, he was never told the truth about Purple's true identity by Shirobon and others, but when she reappeared, he was caught in a color trick (it's unclear whether he learnt that it was the same person at this time).
In the manga version, he was also involved in the design of the B-Da Express. When the Dark Emperor is defeated, he takes part in a simultaneous attack by Shirobon and his men, but the B-Dama he fires is not very powerful and disappears as soon as he fires it.
Borderland (Bakugaiden V) Edition[]
He serves as the supervisor boss of Shirobon and his friends. When he is proud or in a good mood, he makes a laughing sound 'foohohohoho'. He is skilled in mechanics and has developed a variety of aircraft. However, his inventions, except for those deeply related to the storyline, such as the V B-da Armors, the B-Da Units, the B-Daroids, the Crystmond Detector and the "Find You", are as trivial as those in the B-Da City version. On the other hand, he has shown an excellent side, winning the Vida Science Award, which is said to be given to the best scientist.
He has been known to say light gags such as "Click!" (ポチっとな) every time since episode 5 when he travels through time and space when he is deployed. He is a self-proclaimed 'Grey Bon Jiu-Jitsu 5th Dan'.
From the middle of the series, he sometimes travels with B-Dolphin and Cargo Yeiger to each era to deliver new armor and B-Daroids to Shirobon and his friends. In episode 33, he also piloted the Laser Whiter, which was modified to be ridden by Dr. Greybon himself, for once.
